The field of dentistry is always changing, and that’s especially true when it comes to the technology dentists have access to. Our team at Peabody Smile Design understands that in order to deliver the highest quality care possible, we have to consistently update our instruments. That’s why, no matter when you come to see us, you can trust you’ll receive comfortable, precise, and effective care thanks to our advanced dental technology in Peabody.

Digital Dental Impressions & Wellness Scans

A dental impression allows us to create a model of the mouth and teeth in order to design veneers, dentures, crowns, and many other restorations so they perfectly suit a patient. Instead of making a physical impression using messy and odd-tasting dental putty like in the past, we can now do everything digitally. A quick scan is all we need to generate a digital impression that includes much more detail than traditional physical ones, meaning it always leads to a better result. As well, we use the latest iTero scanner that allows us to monitor changes in gum tissue and any wear on your teeth.

Soft Tissue Laser

Soft tissue lasers are very versatile and make treating the gums easier for patients and more straightforward for our team. Using concentrated light energy, we can remove bacteria from deep below the gum line, clear away infected tissue, and even perform cosmetic gum contouring to create a perfectly proportional smile. Compared to traditional methods of gum treatment, the patient basically doesn’t feel anything in the chair and experiences almost no swelling, bleeding, or soreness during their short recovery.

Intraoral Camera

Now, we can give you a tour of your mouth with a small device tipped with a high-powered camera. We can capture and then display close-up images of your teeth and gums, not only making exams more productive for us, but you’ll also be able to see exactly what we’re talking about. This makes explaining your oral health and treatment options easy, taking a lot of the uncertainty out of the dental process.

Panoramic Dental X-Rays

X ray of an entire set of teeth

Traditional dental X-rays are great for getting a closer look at a small number of teeth, but being able to see both rows and the bite in a single image can reveal a lot about someone’s oral health. That’s why we have a panoramic X-ray machine, which on top of letting us examine all of the teeth at once, also shows us the health of the nearby bone, structure of the upper airway, and more. It gives us all the information we need when planning more complicated procedures like dental implant placement or root canal treatment.
